Witnesses Work Together to Hold DUI Suspect for Police
According to recent reports, a group of National City residents worked together to detain a suspected drunk driver who caused property damage. Witnesses say that the driver, a heavily intoxicated 51-year-old man from San Diego, crashed his vehicle into two parked cars.
Police were called to the scene at the 800 block of Sixth Street near Highland Avenue. When they arrived, they found that several of the neighborhood’s residents were in the street holding the drunken man down after he had attempted to flee the scene. The suspect was taken to Paradise Valley Hospital and treated for minor injuries to his face. He was later released and booked on suspicion of drunk driving.
